Meet Zagreb, more then 900 years old city and Croatian capital.
A city of central European charm with magnificent parks and greenery, cultural and historical monument, galleries, theatres…
The harmony of the green surroundings and architectural skills, which Zagreb provides on every step, makes a unique experience.
Zagreb is also the hub of night life as well as business, academic, cultural, artistic and sporting worlds in Croatia.

Many famed scientists, artists and athletes come from the city, and work in it.

Zagreb, like so many other cities has an old face and a new one, memorials of the past and joy of the present.
Wherever you go in Zagreb you will feel the atmosphere of a city. But happily for Zagreb people and their guests it still offers opportunities for all kinds of special and unexpected experiences.

Setting out to the north of Zagreb begins the area known as Hrvatsko Zagorje, a wonderful undulating landscape crisscrossed by hills, rivers and thermal springs. Here, in Hrvatsko Zagorje, which boasts the largest concentration of castles and manor houses after the valley of the River Loire in France, discover picturesque burghs and beautiful Baroque castles.

Meet Hrvatsko Zagorje... a hilly area ornate with manors and castles, turbulent history with great stories...

The Stubica valley is significant in the history of this region as the focal point of battles during the Peasant revolt of 1573. The natural beauty, old palaces and the abundance of thermal springs make the Stubica region an important centre of inland tourism.

Kumrovec is an ethno village on the banks of the Sutla River, a place where you can become acquainted with the architectural and folklore heritage of rural Zagorje from the end of the 19th century. Kumrovec is as well world wide known as a birth place of Josip Broz Tito.

Veliki Tabor is the ancient fortress of the Ratkay counts from the 15th century. This Gothic/Renaissance structure emanates the mysterious atmosphere of legends about the tragic fate of Veronika of Desinić.

National Park Plitvice Lakes with its array of lakes, falls, caves and forests is a pinnacle of the aesthetic pleasure. The harmony and indivisibility of man and nature which can be experienced on the Plitvice Lakes is something that isn't easily forgotten. This is the oldest and largest Croatian National Park, which gained world heritage status by UNESCO in 1979.

It's quite possible that their name "Plitvice Lakes" derives from the word "pličina" (shallow water) and is certainly suitable with regard to the way the lakes emerged. The force of the water has caved and widened the river bed and the emerging travertine dams created a series of shallow lakes.

The names of the lakes were mostly given by the local folk, naming them after a specific natural characteristic or a person somehow connected to the particular lake.
